The Bird's The Word

It’s 6:30 in the morning and my phone is ringing. I stumble out of bed, pick it up, and am greeted with the dial tone. I look over at the birdcage hanging in a stream of early morning light. I then hear my cell phone, our old phone, a dump truck backing up and our microwave. All mimicked perfectly.

Is Winning Important? A Stay-at-Home Mom's Experience as a Competitive Athlete

I had always regretted giving up fencing and thought about it often over the years; it was one of those sports that was so much fun for me....I had never even considered competing, but the kids from my club asked me to come see them fence at a local competition and I couldn’t believe how much I wanted to be fencing with them. It looked like a blast and gave me a goal to work toward within the sport.
