She has her undergraduate degree in English Literature from UPEI, but did her last year at the University of Calgary. Before becoming a stay-at-home Mom, she enjoyed working in a large independent bookstore in downtown Calgary. She had no desire to return to work after her son, Jack, was born so she keeps herself busy with reading, crocheting, fencing, and pole dancing.

amAda Mau

Ada Mau has grown up in several different cultures and places. Currently she calls herself a Londoner; she has also lived in California and Hong Kong. After being dissatisfied with life in the rat race for a few years, she decided to go back to university to obtain her postgraduate education. She is now working as an academic researcher. Her research interests include issues and discourses of identities, gender, cultural transmission, and social justice within formal and informal education and cultural policies. When she is not busy reading research journals and interviewing people, Ada enjoys music, art, good food, travelling, cool clothes and shoes.

Ashley MacPherson

Ashley MacPherson lives in Halifax, NS, where she is currently working on her MA in Criminology at Saint Mary's University. She spent 5 years at Mount Allison University where she got her undergraduate degree with an Honours in Sociology and Minor in Psychology. When not working on her thesis,
she is training in Shotokan Karate, working at the university writing centre, tutoring, or spending time with her boyfriend and their dog. Her dream job is to teach creative writing in a youth or women's prison.
