Sharon was born in Vancouver, but has lived all over the country. Having watched her parents work as pastors serving the forgotten people, social work was a natural choice for Sharon when graduating high school. After attending Seneca College‘s Social Services Worker Program, she began working at Florence Booth House as a Front Line Worker. Currently she is the Program Coordinator, and is the secretary for the Salvation Army Ontario Central Division Initiative against Human Trafficking of Women and Children Sub Committee. Sharon is also the mom of a five-year-old little boy.![]()
Jennifer Lynch used to be known as Jennifer Worrall and lives just outside London where she works as a project manager developing services for adults with social care needs. She has a long-standing interest in feminist issues, which led her to complete an MA in Women's History in 2003. She now enjoys mixing this interest with her work, often writing about subjects affecting women working in public organisations. In her spare time she enjoys running, reading, singing in choirs and spending precious few hours with her husband
Kylie was raised in Lethbridge, Alberta and attended the Law Clerk program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario. After completing college she relocated to Vancouver, British Columba where she worked as a Legal Secretary in the area of Personal Injury Law. She looks forward to returning to school with the ultimate goal of obtaining her law degree.
She now lives in Kitimat, British Columbia with her husband, son and four pets. Her hobbies include reading, yoga, swimming and various paper crafts.
Alaina Roach O’Keefe was born in Owen Sound, Ontario. Her family moved to Prince Edward Island when she was 10 years old, and since then, she has loved living on the Island. Alaina has her Bachelor of Education (2005) and her Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology (2003) from the University of Prince Edward Island, and is currently completing her residency for the Masters in Applied Health Services Research (ARTC-UPEI). She plans to graduate in 2008.
Alaina Roach O'Keefe is both an educator and a junior researcher. She works at UPEI as a Research Coordinator for Family Literacy projects in Rural and Aboriginal Communities in Atlantic Canada. Her research interests lie in the areas of intergenerational literacy, child and adolescent health, and inclusion. Alaina also enjoys volunteering with the Learning Disabilities Association, traveling, running, UFIT, spending time with her family, and boating with her husband, Sean. She loves red wine and planning parties (weddings, birthdays, surprises, themes, etc).
