Louise Beaver
Louise has spent many years finally getting to where she wants to be, in her own home with an amazing man and three beautiful (and spoilt) cats.
She studied for her History BA at the University of Wales Swansea, MA in women’s history at the University Of London, Royal Holloway and finally completed with a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from the University of Reading. Louise currently teaches history to teenagers from 11 to 18.
Louise enjoys reading fiction novels of all varieties (especially teenage fiction), and is a tad obsessive about Harry Potter. She is also addicted to Lost and Desperate Housewives, and wishes she was Bree (but openly admits to never being able to achieve those levels of control).
Louise has never really TRAVELLED, apart from two-week holiday vacation sights within Europe, and has no real desire to do so immediately; there are so many worthwhile experiences at home. One day she will travel with her future husband when they are old and cranky with a lot more life experience to appreciate it with. For the moment, home is where her heart is…

At UPEI she focused mainly on Marketing and International Business, and completed the Co-operative Education program. She recently joined the team at Innovative HealthwoRx, a comprehensive workplace wellness provider in Charlottetown, as a Marketing and Communications representative.
While not working and traveling Shauna loves to be outdoors, having fun with family and friends, scrapbooking and reading

Barb Harris has gone through several changes of life. A 50 something, she rebuilt her life after becoming disabled with chemical sensitivity in 1992. She now lives in Springhill, Nova Scotia.
On “good brain days” she researches, writes and strategizes about environmental health as a member of the Environmental Health Association of Nova Scotia (EHANS). Other times she rests and spends innumerable hours looking for products she can tolerate. She reads fiction, meditates, gardens (organically of course), knits and spends time with human and canine companions.
Barb’s most life changing TRAVEL experience was living in Nicaragua for 6 weeks in 1981 as part of a work brigade. Seeing the hope, spirit and sense of community of the Nicaraguan people, and viewing North American society and its functioning from outside had a lasting impact on her
life. Barb’s most challenging travel experience was a 6 week trip with her partner and 80 lb dog in a Tercel sedan, tenting through rainy Vancouver Island, Northern British Columbia and the Queen Charlotte Islands.
Her present voyage as a chemically sensitive person in a chemical world provides the insights and challenges of previous travel experiences, but in no way can be considered a vacation.
Barb is co-author of the Guide to Less Toxic Products and Editor of UPdate, EHANS’ semi-annual
publication.
Ainsley Kendrick
Although considered "from away" Ainsley has called PEI her home for over 12 years. She is a BFA graduate of Memorial University's Theatre program specializing in Stagecraft and is currently living and working in Toronto trying to gain some insight into the crazy world of the arts.
Ainsley has packed up her life and TRAVELLED several times, but is now hoping to make her home in the city of the high rises. She hopes working in the arts will take her to new places and bring forth great adventures. Ainsley jumps at the chance to try anything new, so along with writing for Edwards, she has also taken up kickboxing, swing dance, and performance art.

Jennifer Roma
Jennifer Roma grew up on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia, in Porter's Lake, and has been making her home in Charlottetown for the last four years. While moving to a new province on her own and living by herself for the first time in her life was definitely the biggest RISK she ever took, changing careers from health and wellness into wildlife conservation is another more recent biggie!
Luckily both have paid off for Jennifer. She is proud to count some of her closest friends in Charlottetown and is excited to be re-entering school at Holland College this fall. In her spare time she enjoys biking, running, hiking, volunteering at the PEI Humane Society, or spending time with her own special girl - her dog Skye (a very spoiled Husky).

Jennifer Y. Thornhill
Jennifer Y. Thornhill is a second-year MSc candidate in an applied health services research program at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Before enrolling in her Master's, Jennifer completed a journalism degree, which included an honours thesis focussing on local media coverage of a provincial hospital employee strike. Currently residing in Ottawa, Ontario, Jennifer is working toward the completion of her thesis, which relates to Atlantic Canadian newspaper coverage of wait times for medical services. When she is not working, Jennifer enjoys pursuing her interests as a mixed-media folk artist and a jewellery designer.
Although Jennifer enjoys TRAVELLING to places within in, and beyond, Canada’s borders, her most memorable excursions have taken place in her own backyard in Newfoundland. As a beachcomber, Jennifer has travelled along the rugged coastline of this province in search of treasures that have washed up on shore. It is this form of travel where Jennifer finds she is most at one with herself.
Krista Wakelin
Originally from Prince Edward Island, Krista Rae Wakelin is currently living in Oita Prefecture, Japan. She graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2002 with a major in English Literature and a double minor in History and Religious Studies. She moved to Japan shortly after
graduation and is now working as an English teacher at a conversation
school.
TRAVELLING has been Krista's best source of education. She has travelled to many countries, including South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, and the United States. Each country offered her something different that a texbook could not. Krista believes that travelling is a wonderful way to broaden her views on many issues. From seeing the dolphins jump in the early mornings in Bali, to seeing the beggers on the streets of Bangkok, to handling original manuscripts at Harvard, to visiting the Demilitarized Zone(DMZ) in South Korea and gazing into North Korea, each experience has made Krista the person she is today.
