My passion is hiking. Given a choice of any activity to engage in, I will always choose hiking. Unfortunately Prince Edward Island does not offer many choice hiking destinations. Therefore, it can be quite a production to embark on a multi-day trek, as one has to travel off-island and back which can add substantial time and cost to the adventure.

Another obstacle: my husband. I am a social person and I enjoy hiking with someone. Unfortunately, my husband is a sailor and a cyclist. Not a hiker. In fact, he grimaces when I get excited at the prospect of planning a hiking adventure. So, after much convincing Graeme agreed to take the weekend off of sailing and cycling to join me on a hike. His only proviso (nothing Everest worthy): he wanted to enjoy himself (I tend to be a bit ambitious). And the adventure begins....
