About Us
Edwards is a publication that appeals to Canadian women, offering profiles of women who are making a difference in today’s world, while also alerting to continual need for change/action in other parts of the world, or within Canada itself. While Edwards can also appeal to men, Canadian women is its key audience.
What We Need
Edwards seeks articles on various issues related to women and change. We welcome story suggestions from our contributors in areas of politics, current events, charity organizations, health, the environment, history, literature, economics, and entertainment (although we prefer profiling independent stream of artists rather than more main-stream ones). While it should be kept in mind that female empowerment is the publication’s vision, there are several ways of highlighting this vision (i.e. the story need not focus on a female activist – profiling a man who works with a non-profit organization that might focus on women would be just as suited). Edwards hopes to maintain a formula of 70% empowering/encouraging features, and 30% need-for-change features.
What We Offer
We welcome published, unpublished and first-time writers. We offer writers a chance to be published and an audience for their work. Edwards will give its contributors full credit for any written material and images used.
Submitting
If you have a story idea, please email the editor at editor@edwardsmagazine.ca. Please do not send submissions without checking with the editor first. Submissions should be sent electronically in either Word or Rich Text format. We reserve the right to edit all submissions for content, length, and clarity in consultation with the authors.
